General Scope of Responsibility: Manages the engineering planning & preparation activities necessary to launch assigned new jobs and engineering changes at rate and 100% quality. Also, has lead engineering responsibility for providing support to production needs such as resolving process problems and improving safety, quality, and productivity on assigned programs/processes.
DUTIES & ELEMENTS:
- Responsible for the programming and optimization of adhesive, water jet, pick and place robots as assigned.
- Leads production work cell setups and also the set-up or running of plant service parts as required.
- Performs tool modification or maintenance as required.
- Assists with process development effort to develop optimal cell layout, work instructions, process flow layout, set-up procedures, while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity protocols.
- Coordinates internal engineering trials for PPAP’s, PSA’s, Run at Rates, etc..
- Assists with launches through development and engineering of new or changed products.
- Accomplishes the above tasks through compliance with the plant’s Advanced Planning Quality Procedures (APQP).
Continuous Improvement:
- Develops documentation as described in TS16949/QS-9000 manuals as plant responsibilities.
- Identifies and resolves process improvements by exceeding budgeted cycle times, reducing budgeted spoilage, improving process capability, increasing throughput, and improved set-ups.
- Develops and employs troubleshooting guidelines and best practices.
- Provides training for all new and existing process and manufacturing systems.
- Assists production floor as process expert by utilizing troubleshooting, diagnosis, debugging, and other technical skills to keep production lines running at peak efficiency, including focus on robots and adhesive dispensing systems.
- Performs cause analysis, and corrective action implementation on assigned customer complaints or internal failures.
- Meets with customers and vendors when necessary.
- Performs job safety analysis as required and implementation of assigned corrective actions.
Lean Engineering/Manufacturing:
- Applies lean engineering tools with value stream mapping, SMED, Standardize work method, etc. to improve assigned process.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, etc.):
Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:
- High school diploma or equivalent and, 4 years industrial experience as a technician.
- Experience or training using computer systems and software (MSOffice, Windows Operating Systems).
Desired:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Programming knowledge of Fanuc robots
- An understanding of thermoforming or extrusion processes.
- A working knowledge of plant processes.
- A level 2 understanding of SPC.
- The ability to perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Design of Experience (DOE’s).

HUMAN RELATIONS:
The Process Engineering Technician ( PET) works closely with, and often serves as support to a number of different departments and personnel. As a result, and in order to achieve optimum effectiveness, the PET must maintain a positive, cooperative relationship with various departments/individuals and must be responsive to their needs.
The PET interacts with all levels of the organization, i.e., with operators through senior managers. To be effective, the PET must be sensitive to, and cooperatively blend the needs and goals of the various levels of the organization with the common denominator of ‘achieving organizational objectives’, i.e., effective launches, safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, and positive employee/ employer relations.
Finally, in the role of a problem solver, the PET must remain objective and be able to make recommendations based on facts, regardless of whether those recommendations are popular. The PET must take ownership of the process(es) to which they are assigned and be accountable for all related machines.
Physical requirements:
Occasionally ascends/descends ladders or stairs on manufacturing equipment to assist with trial runs. Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds across plant floor when assisting in tool launch process. Must be able to walk through the manufacturing plant and stand for long periods of time. Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
General Scope of Responsibility: To develop production schedules, procure raw materials, ensure notification and shipment of product to our customers in the right quantities at the established delivery times, and to coordinate all customer contact on any issues requiring attention.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Manage the appropriate TS systems and procedures needed to effectively perform the ‘production control functions’
- Develops, maintains, improves, and assures the effective execution of documented procedures needed to effectively manage the ‘production control functions’ and comply with TS16949/ISO14001EMS documentation.
Manages raw, in process, and finished goods inventories
- Assures inventory obsolescence is avoided
- Assures obsolescence claims against our customers are filed and paid
- Maintains pre-established finished and raw material inventory levels
- Implement and manage Lean pull systems.
Manages contacts with customers
- Act as a liaison with customer for delivery concerns and other requests
- Utilize customer systems (FORD-DDL, GPIRS, GPC,SUPER-G, SERVICE; FCA-SMART; GM Supply Power, SPOC, CLIPS,GMCC & MMOG/LE.)
- Review changes or launch of new product, inform customer to ensure breakpoints and eliminate obsolescence.
Monitors and informs Materials Manager on issues with key departmental measurables/deliverables
- Customer delivery performance metrics.
- Premium freight for in-bound and out-bound materials
- Vendor delivery, performance
- Inventory Cycle Counts Adjustments
Performs and oversees various budget related tasks
- Assures bills and routers are correct during annual profit planning process
Schedules Production
- Schedules production equipment and communicates schedule with Manufacturing
- Assist in establishing crewing needs for production floor and communicates with Manufacturing
- Assures bills and routers are entered correctly on new business/engineering changes
- Contact Customer for engineering changes or launch of new product.
- Assures errors in bills and routers are identified and eliminated
- Coordinate scheduling of new items and engineering changes, trial runs, PPAP runs, engineering runs and preventative maintenance run on machines.
- Review customer releases and communicate to management and/or customer of possible shortage and changes (i.e downtime) to management.

DUTIES AND ELEMENTS:
Supervises the Quality Department personnel:
- Identifies and secures approval for the staffing and budgetary needs of the quality department.
- Provides for skill development, professional development, and cross-training of department personnel.
- Evaluates and rates performance of direct reports, assure their assigned duties are performed.
- Establishes environment conducive to high performance, assist other plant personnel to understand and execute their specifically assigned duties.
- Assures that communications to all shifts is consistent and complete.
Manages the systems and procedures needed to effectively perform the Quality Department functions:
- Develops, maintains, improves, and assures the effective execution of documented procedures needed to effectively manage Quality Department activities; perform or delegate duties specifically assigned to the Plant Quality Manager.
- Oversee plant internal audits acting as the plant administrator for this function, yearly audit schedules, facilitate auditor training, review auditor competency. Represent the plant during 2nd and 3rd party quality system audits.
- Assist in development of strategies to assure continuous quality/productivity/cost improvement in systems, procedures, processes and products; assist in institutionalizing the corporate Quality Philosophy throughout the plant.
- Assist in developing the plant’s annual Quality/Productivity Improvement plan; implementation and execution of Plex Modules, regularly report on progress against plan.
- Serve as IATF 16949 Management Representative. Ensure continual improvement in the Management System and compliance with IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements.
- Actively participates in the Order Execution process, assures APQP is properly executed and Control Plans are effective. Participates in the development of FMEAs and helps ensure launches are successful.
- Assist purchasing to assess and select vendors; assist in communications with vendors on quality requirements, problems and corrective action.
Provides leadership role in resolving product quality problems:
- Assures customers receive prompt, thorough, and complete responses to quality complaints, in accordance with applicable customer applications and internal procedures;
- Assures effective corrective actions are identified and implemented in a timely fashion for external, internal and supplier failures. Ensure corrective actions are shared across all manufacturing plants and incorporated into lessons learned database.
- Coordinates administration of the defective material identification & disposition program; i.e., the DMR & MDA.
- Monitors & takes corrective/improvement action on key quality measurables; i.e., parts per million (PPM)/Spoilage, repeat complaints
- Report on the quality performance of the plant in a systematic and regular fashion so management and non-management personnel are aware of performance and can mutually assess our improvement needs. Report to the Plant Manager and/or the Corporate Quality Director the needs of the plant’s quality effort.
Provides leadership role in to the plant:
- Drives the Lean Program within department and supports overall strategy of the plant.
- Actively participates in the plant’s talent assessment process (9-box, Ideal Team Player Venn Diagram)

Physical Requirements;
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and navigate tight spaces. - Follow all plant work and safety rules.
- Ensure the product meets or exceeds customer and internal specifications.
- Perform all necessary quality control testing and record all data, accurately, as required.
- Package product in boxes or returnable containers/racks and accurately record all information on all necessary paperwork.
- Fill out product identification labels and make cartons.
- Continuously inspect product for defects.
- Work rotating work schedule and overtime as assigned.
- Perform necessary housekeeping in work area.

Work Environment:
- This is a typical industrial environment utilizing moderately heavy equipment.
- The work environment at times can be dirty, hot, cold, dusty, noisy (85 DBS), and greasy, but is generally thought to be good.
- Workers may be exposed to hazards such as overhead hoists, stationary blades, utility knives, pinch points, lifting, extreme heat, hazardous chemicals, forklift traffic, high voltage, repetitive tasks, moving machine parts, fumes and heights.
- High degree of care necessary as serious injury may result.

Three (3) positions available, two on afternoon shift and one on midnight shift. They are 8 hour shifts plus overtime as needed.
General Scope of Responsibility:
To support all Maintenance operations within the manufacturing plant
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Perform machine maintenance repair. Assignments will include but are not limited to performing preventative maintenance, machine repair, machine design improvements, buidling and grounds maintenance, and industrial machine trouble shooting.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, Etc.):
Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:
- High School Diploma;
- Knowledge of basic electricity;
- DC and AC Drive Installation and Troubleshooting experience;
- Mechanical and electrical blue print reading and writing experience;
- Ability to utilize OEM documentation to repair equipment (prints and instructions);
- Knowledge of electrical controls;
- Ability to do industrial electrical troubleshooting;
- Knowledge of Plant work/safety rules;
- Knowledge of electrical safety and the industrial electrical code;
- Ability to provide mechanical and electrical support;
- Ability to fill out machine work requests completely and accurately;
- Ability to research, select and make recommodations for mechanical and electrical component repairs;
- Basic machining skills;
- Knowledge of tooling (dies and molds);
- Understanding of hydraulic systems.
Desired [Will provide job holder with added skill(s) to perform duties]:
- 5 years experience in electrical and mechanical repair; (up to 4 years of experience can be substituted by school)
- Advanced machining skills and ability to work from drawings and prints;
