General Scope of Responsibility:

Collaborate within the CPAC organization to support and identify ongoing purchasing needs.  Ownership of Indirect purchasing including MRO, Logistics and contract support.  Partner with Financial Analyst and Direct Purchasing on overall purchasing strategy. 

DUTIES & ELEMENTS:

  • Manage indirect purchases across 4 plants and the corporate office. Responsible for creating, placing, tracking PO’s while also verifying inventory, spare parts, supplies, purchased equipment and services. 
  • Develop strong connections to stakeholders within the plants and across staff & leadership teams. Interface with internal plants engineering & project managers to assist in solving problems with deliveries: short shipments, damaged goods and merchandise shipped in error or of poor quality. Assist in determining root cause and corrective action.  Coordinate changes in delivery schedules. 
  • Assist plants with routine MRO purchase activities and order placement. Lead MRO catalogue optimization, service contract quotes, negotiations, and contract management with additional actions as plants request or require assistance.
  • Manage 3rd Party Freight providers – routinely quote freight costs in coordination with new quote estimating, program managers, R&D, engineering, and plant materials. Develop freight costs and freight standards for new quotes, new programs, and current business.
  • Proactively and effectively negotiate with suppliers to drive lower costs through identification of ongoing opportunities while optimizing performance across supply base. Supplier Management to include development and partnership across the supply base and maintenance of all documentation required for ongoing business.
  • Collaborate w/in purchasing and operations to centralize supplier contracts for full visibility across plants and corporate office.
  • Work within PLEX ERP system to execute transactional processes.
  • Follow Procurement Processes & Controls.

HUMAN RELATIONS:

General Scope of Responsibility: Provide the leadership needed to effectively maintain all plant equipment, building and yards.  Use experience and problem-solving skills to resolve operational difficulties.

 SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operates as designed.
  • Give daily priority to all safety related issues.
  • Supervise the maintenance work force.
  • Maintain a preventive maintenance program for all plant production equipment, auxiliary equipment, new equipment, building and yards.
  • Assist plant management in developing a plant maintenance budget. Operate within the scope of the budget.
  • Interact with Engineering personnel in the design and implementation of manufacturing equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain inventories for machinery and building to insure proper and prompt repairs.
  • Provide preventive maintenance training to department employees as needed.
  • Install or assist in the installation of new or upgraded equipment.
  • Requisition of maintenance and machine materials.
  • Maintain a complete history of repair, preventive maintenance, and parts and labor purchases for all equipment.
  • Provide to plant management, cause and corrective actions for equipment failures and repairs.
  • Report monthly manpower status and requirements, preventive maintenance performed, downtime cause and corrective actions, and other required information.
  • Act as the Environmental Management Representative. (Or Co-rep with the Plant Manager).  This includes being the certified SWPPP operator.  (Will provide RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Training which is a required onboarding training for this role.)

Responsible for planning & preparation activities necessary to launch assigned new jobs and engineering changes at quoted cycle rate and 100% quality.  Also, has lead engineering responsibility for providing support to production needs such as resolving process problems and improving safety, quality, and productivity on assigned programs/processes.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Facilities and Engineering Projects

  • Responsible for process development effort to develop optimal cell layout, work instructions, process flow layout, set-up procedures, while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity protocols.
  • Coordinates internal engineering trials for PPAP’s, PSA’s, Run at Rates, etc.
  • Responsible for launches through development and engineering of new or changed products.
  • Responsible for the set-up or running of plant service parts as required.
  • Responsible for the programming and optimization robots as assigned.

  • Assist in review and prioritization of projects.
  • Prepare and submit MERs as required to complete projects

  • The Process Engineer must also interact with all levels of the organization, i.e., with operators through senior manager. To be effective, he/she must be sensitive to, and cooperatively blend, the needs and goals of these various levels with the common denominator being the achievement of organizational objectives, i.e., scrap reduction, cost reduction, efficiency increases, and positive employee/employer relations. 
  • The Process Engineer must be able to interact with customer engineering and assembly plant personnel as part of a launch team or in problem-solving efforts.

Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds across plant floor when assisting in tool launch process. Must be able to walk through the manufacturing plant and stand for long periods of time. General Scope of Responsibility:  Manages the engineering planning & preparation activities necessary to launch assigned new jobs and engineering changes at rate and 100% quality.  Also, has engineering responsibility for resolving process problems and improving plant safety, quality, and productivity on assigned programs/processes.

DUTIES & ELEMENTS:

Executes the RVP process engineering activities

  • Develops, optimizes, documents and updates process work instructions and set-up procedures as required.
  • Develops and updates tooling specifications and best practices for plant processes.
  • Reviews new and existing product design to ensure optimal manufacturability, adherence to tolerance guidelines, functionality, tool design, machine design, cell layout, and safety and ergonomic concerns.
  • Leads process development effort through cross-functional teams to develop optimal cell layout and process flow layout while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity protocols.
  • Develops, documents and employs process troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance to department IATF 16949: 2016 procedures.
  • Participate in the TFC process to assist in determining optimum processes, tooling, and material requirements for customer quotes.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles (e.g. 5S, value stream mapping, SMED, standardized work methods, etc.) to improve assigned processes.

Leads RVP Engineering efforts to resolve/improve process opportunities:

  • Identifies and resolves process improvements leading to better cycle times, reduced spoilage, improved process capability (i.e. Cpk, Ppk), and increased throughput.
  • Evaluates and takes actions needed to meet or exceed plant targets set for spoilage, cycle time, and quality.
  • Assists production staff as process expert by utilizing troubleshooting, diagnosis, debugging, and other technical skills to keep production lines running at peak efficiency.
  • Performs cause analysis and corrective action implementation on assigned customer complaints or internal failures as assigned
  • Performs safety analysis and implementation as assigned.

Plant Launches/APQP activities

  • Ensure compliance and complete assigned APQP activities
  • Evaluate effectiveness of proposed process (process/flow/floor space/layout/ergonomics/ etc.)
  • Initiate activities to secure and install new equipment or processes.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to develop PFMEA’s, mistake/error proofing.
  • Leads and/or assists with tooling design and development from prototype through manufacturing production stages as required by Program Manager.
  • Review product design with respect to materials, quality, function and manufacturability.
  • Prototype and pre-launch production runs
  • Train operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to run new processes and equipment.
  • Ensure products meet quoted cycle time, material usage, and operator requirements.
  • Coordinates PPAP, PSA’s, Run at Rates runs with plant personnel to ensure a capable product.

  • They are also responsible for ensuring the quality of the product and performing necessary quality checks.
  • The operator must package the finished product and accurately record all information.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all plant work and safety rules.
  • Ensure the product meets or exceeds customer and internal specifications.
  • Perform all necessary quality control testing and record all data, accurately, as required.
  • Package product in boxes or returnable containers/racks and accurately record all information on all necessary paperwork.
  • Fill out product identification labels and make cartons.
  • Continuously inspect product for defects.
  • Work rotating work schedule and overtime as assigned.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping in work area.

Maintenance Repair is responsible for keeping the plant equipment in a safe operating condition to meet production requirements.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Perform Maintenance Repair assignments.  These assignments will include but are not limited to performing preventative maintenance, machine repair, machine design improvements, facility and grounds maintenance, die repair, and industrial machine trouble shooting. Must be willing to be part of a team environment and actively assist team members in the performance of their duties. Perform necessary housekeeping in assigned work area, attend all required meetings, report all unsafe conditions and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, Etc.):

Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Able to add, subtract, and work with fractions and decimals.
  • Must have an aptitude for industrial troubleshooting and machine repair with a desire to learn.
  • Must have prior knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, pneumatic, or preventative maintance;
  • Ability to pass all required training courses;
  • Ability to follow all plant work rules and safety rules;
  • Ability to use a multimeter;
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems, and repair;
  • Knowledge of pneumatic controls and systems;
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical blue print reading;
  • Knowledge of basic electricity; ability to troubleshoot 120 volt, 240 volt and 480 volt 3 phase power controls;
  • Ability to install basic electrical, including running conduit;
  • Exceptional attendance record and willingness to work rotating shifts;
  • Ability to pass all OSHA/EPA required training courses;
  • Ability to understand and fulfill job duties in a timely manner;
