General Scope of Responsibility:

Assist in the design, build, and start-up of production processing machinery. Assist in modifying existing machinery.

DUTIES & ELEMENTS: 

  • Assist machine builders in the assembly of new machinery and modifying existing machinery
  • Assist electricians in wiring of machinery and panels
  • Assist engineers in updating mechanical and electrical prints
  • Assist programmers in troubleshooting efforts

DUTIES & ELEMENTS:

Plan the activities of the Maintenance Department

  • Supervises maintenance employees on-shift and schedules off-shift activities in conjunction with production supervisors.
  • Assure spare parts are available for machine repairs and PM’s.
  • Coordinate repairs with Plant Engineering.
  • Responsible for Effective Inventory Management.
  • Prepare and present Maintenance Performance Metrics.

Participates in Continuous Improvement

  • Completes corrective actions as assigned by Engineering

Meets Human Resources Requirements

  • Completes Safety Gram and inspection items in a timely manner.
  • Keeps housekeeping in maintenance and project areas in order.
  • Conducts performance evaluations for direct reports at expected intervals.
  • Conducts daily maintenance meetings.

Perform Maintenance Worker ‘A’ (MWA) assignments.  These assignments will include but are not limited to performing preventative maintenance, machine repair, machine design improvements, building and grounds maintenance, SDR, die repair, and industrial machine trouble shooting.

General Scope of Responsibilities: 

  • The operator is responsible for running of the machine in a safe and productive manner.
  • They are also responsible for ensuring the quality of the product and performing necessary quality checks.
  • The operator must package the finished product and accurately record all information.
  • The operator must be willing to be part of a team environment by helping others in the performance of their duties.

Essential Functions: 

• Follow all plant work and safety rules.
• Ensure the product meets or exceeds customer and internal specifications.
• Perform all necessary quality control testing and record all data, accurately, as required.
• Package product in boxes or returnable containers/racks and accurately record all information on all necessary paperwork.
• Fill out product identification labels and make cartons.
• Continuously inspect product for defects.
• Work rotating work schedule and overtime as assigned.
• Perform necessary housekeeping in work area.

Work Environment: 

• This is a typical industrial environment utilizing moderately heavy equipment.
• The work environment at times can be dirty, hot, cold, dusty, noisy (85 DBS), and greasy, but is generally thought to be good.
• Workers may be exposed to hazards such as overhead hoists, stationary blades, utility knives, pinch points, lifting, extreme heat, hazardous chemicals, forklift traffic, high voltage, repetitive tasks, moving machine parts, fumes and heights.
• High degree of care necessary as serious injury may result.

Work Schedule We are a continuous operation facility. This position is required to work rotating shifts. Overtime will be required at times.

    To provide leadership and direction to all areas of plant operations to ensure that quality products are manufactured in a cost-effective and safe manner

  • Establish and maintain a safe workplace for all employees. Establish suitability and effectiveness of the EMS.  Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive safety program that meets applicable safety regulations and corporate goals.  Assure all employees are working safely.

HUMAN RELATIONS:

The Plant Manager’s position is the cornerstone of a successful operation.  This person must be able to communicate effectively with all levels in the plant and at Corporate.  The Plant Manager must be sensitive to the needs and concerns of all subordinates.  Professionalism, respect, and authority must be exhibited at all times. This person must be firm, yet fair and viewed as a leader at all times.

General Scope of Responsibility: Supervise and direct hourly employees in the day-to-day operation of the plant.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Implement and maintain the safety, quality, production standards, and policies of the Company. Conduct training, problem solving, and team meetings as necessary.  Strive for continuous improvement.

SAFETY:

  • Instruct and see that safe work practices are being observed and used. Be aware of any unsafe work practices or conditions and take corrective action.
  • Enforce all plant rules and regulations.
  • Report and document all safety concerns in Health and Safety Incident Log
  • Conduct investigations of accidents and injuries. Fill out and submit Supervisor’s Report of Injury.

QUALITY:

  • Ensure that all products being manufactured meet or exceed customer requirements. When products do not meet customer specifications, the Supervisor is to see that corrective action is implemented.
  • DMR hold all products that do not meet specifications. Alert Quality Department of quality problems.
  • Verify operator check sheets to ensure quality checks are being performed and sign off as required.
  • Maintain a leadership role in directing continuous improvement related to quality and productivity.

PRODUCTIVITY

  • Implement and maintain production standards.
  • Reduce scrap rates.
  • Ensure specification work orders are written and correct before they are placed on the production floor.
  • Coordinate changes with Department schedulers and resolve any schedule or personnel conflicts
  • Ensure equipment is operational. When breakdowns or maintenance repairs are needed, notify Maintenance Department and fill out maintenance Work Request. See that repairs are completed timely.
  • Ensure that operators have the needed supplies and equipment to do their assigned jobs safely and efficiently.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in productivity and quality in all areas of the operation.
  • Document operations in Supervisors Log daily.
  • Complete Assigned layered process audits and documentation.

INVENTORY

  • Conduct inventories of assigned items.
  • Monitor any supplies that the plant uses to ensure the plant does not run out.

MEETINGS:

  • Conduct shift change communication meeting with on-coming Supervisor, provide run-down of “current state of the operation”
  • Communicate with shift Leaders and participate in daily Leader hand-off meeting.
  • Attend all assigned meetings. Keep oneself updated on items going on within the plant including review of meeting minutes when on the off shift.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the key quality and process characteristics of the products and process involved with being an automotive supplier.
  • Demonstrated record of job improvement showing capability as self starter with minimal direction.

Human Relations:

The Production Supervisor is the first line of management responsible for training, motivating, and developing production employees and, as such, must provide clear communications between operators and upper managerial personnel.  The Production Supervisor provides technical and personnel related leadership, promotes safety, quality, and efficiency in plant operations, and is sensitive to employee relations issues.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 35 – 40 pounds.

Environmental conditions include noisy environments with occasional varying temperatures.

General Scope of Responsibility:

Supervise all shipping/receiving and warehouse operations.  Monitors and resolves customer issues with regards to shipments following Automotive specific requirements.  Meets all customer shipping and notification requirements to maintain good supplier status for all benchmarks.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Supervise shipping/receiving and warehouse personnel
  • Ensure all personnel are properly and fully trained. Develop back-up and cross-training as required.
  • Complete hourly/weekly attendance reports.
  • Ensure staffing of Shipping to meet all customer requirements (weekends, holidays, etc.).
  • Act as back-up to all department positions.
  • Schedule special shipments/trucks as needed.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisor(s) if any requirements for the day’s shipments are missing.
  • Maintain container file.
Ensure FIFO inventory procedures are utilized
  • Manage material flow in warehouse.
  • Coordinate cycle count program.
  • Monitor inventory levels for appropriate activity.
  • Execute requested actions on MDA forms.
Develop and maintain TS16949 and ISO14001 procedures and documentation
  • Maintain appropriate procedures to meet requirements of TS 16949/ISO14001.
  • Ensure all personnel are knowledgeable in TS and ISO procedures.
  • Participate in internal audit program.
Monitor customer systems
  • Track and report customer on-time delivery performance.
  • Ensure all customer requirements are met concerning the answering of customer systems (for example: SMART, DDL, GM Supply Power).
  • Ensure challenges to violations are processed in a timely manner.
Manage departmental activities to meet budget
  • Coordinate maintenance of all hi-lo’s and warehouse equipment
  • Monitor trash removal to ensure best utilization.
  • Monitor monthly budget to ensure budgets are met.

Assist Scheduling Department as needed

Acts as back-up for Production Supervision as needed.

  • The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordination of all shipping/receiving activity in the facility. The Warehouse Supervisor is an excellent communicator and posesses the people skills necessary to manage a diverse team to achieve organizational goals.
