General Scope of Responsibility:

Coordinate shipping and receiving functions and transactions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: 

  • Receive shipping schedule from automotive releases.
  • Create and provide product pull list to assist warehouse personnel in pulling, staging and separating products by customer and truck line/customer.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery times of daily shipments with truck lines. Both Customer & CPAC Contacted Logistics company.
  • Prepare shipping labels with required information: date, part number, ship to code, and carrier.  If required by some customers, release number and purchase order.
  • Perform Splits or Merges of containers as needed in the Plex ERP system.
  • Enter individual shipment information in customers logistics portals as required. (Scheider, Penske, Paccar, DTNA ect…)
  • Enter individual shipment information to generate packing list, Bill of Lading, and shipper being watchful of important items for certain customers: deliver dates, attaching packing list to pallet, purchase order number, release number, ship to address if different than plant destination in the Plex ERP System.
  • Assemble, prepare, and attach all documents necessary for proper shipment of finished goods.
  • Customs Invoice
  • Conformance Certification
  • Copy of shipper attached to pallet for certain customers.
  • Cross-reference pallet tickets with shipping list to be certain all parts are shipped without error: Check destination code (written by shipping attendant), part number and quantities.
  • Manage emergency shipments – call-expediting services to set up pick up time and expected delivery time of material to customer including after hours or weekends if necessary.
  • Ship indicate bills of lading as soon as material is signed for by truck driver to transmit ASN immediately to customer. Use alternate backup ASN system if Plex is down or cannot be connected too.
  • Monitor Customer Systems and Checks (Ford, GM, Stellantis, ect..). This requires the ability to access systems remotely, if needed, to monitor customer systems during weekends or holidays if they are running.
  • File all shippers and bills of lading.
  • Verify and receive in Raw materials & MRO Items Shipments, Label containers as required by Plex for the products being received Communicate with management team requirements ahead of time when reinspection/rework of products is being conducted so that the correct amount of product is ready when needed.
  • Follow Customer Required Routing Guides & transportation requirements, insuring cost penalties are not incurred.
  • Maintain Customer Container Fleet information and Receipts in the respective customer container portal.
  • Maintain and update the Plex container fleet receipts in our Plex system.
  • Prepare & Package Service Part Shipment parts as needed.
  • Dispute Customer Shipping Violations as required.

Communicate shipping concerns to appropriate personnel

  •  Inform production control personnel of parts not in inventory.

  •  Gather and input information for memo shippers on material to be shipped by truck line.

General Scope of Responsibility: Develop and manage electrical and control system design, implementation and change processes.

DUTIES & ELEMENTS:
Responsibilities:
•Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles and involvement in presentation of the solution to customer.
•Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
•Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
•Responsible for project success whether project leader or as part of a project team.
•Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
•Support plants in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities.
•Interpret project requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget.

Engineering:
•Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
•Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements.
•Create an accurate Bill of Materials.
•Define equipment and parts from external suppliers.
•Conduct cost and time estimation.           

Project Execution:
•Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, and allotted budget.
•Electrical, software design of customized solutions including manufacturing automation and safety systems. Able to maintain project scope and identify project creep.
•Support manufacture, build and validation of systems which include pneumatics, servos, vfd’s, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons, and robotic integration.
•Create documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings.
•Ability to architect programs that are simple to test, well documented and versatile.     

Project Completion:
•Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standard.
•Commission customized products and systems onsite and at customer facilities.

Servicing
•Modifies systems upon customer’s request and documents the amendments accordingly.
•Provide high quality pre-project, design-in and post-project technical support to customers.
•Performs service on Allen Bradley Servo Motors.
•Must have panel construction knowledge.
•Hands-on experience preferable.

HUMAN RELATIONS:
The Controls Engineer (CE) works closely with, and often serves as support to several different departments and personnel. As a result, and to achieve optimum effectiveness, the CE must maintain a positive, cooperative relationship with various departments/individuals and must be responsive to their needs.

The CE interacts with all levels of the organization, i.e., with operators through senior managers. To be effective, the CE must be sensitive to, and cooperatively blend the needs and goals of the various levels of the organization with the common denominator of ‘achieving organizational objectives’, i.e., effective launches, safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, and positive employee/ employer relations.

Finally, in the role of a problem solver, the CE must remain objective and be able to make recommendations based on facts, regardless of whether those recommendations are popular. The CE must take ownership of the processes to which they are assigned and be accountable for all related machines.

Physical Requirements:

General Scope of Responsibility: To ensure all manufacturing processes are optimized in terms of production, quality, and technology.  To oversee production readiness for all new product/process launches. To manage and prioritize Engineering work within the RC Plant to improve profitability.

 Scope: Manages a team, responsible for the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, or plants. Responsible for operational excellence via efficient plant design. Ensures continuous improvement in safety, cost, quality and production. Manages all engineering projects and resolves engineering problems. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Leads the process engineering activities for new jobs/launches and engineering changes from preplanning and preparation to implementation.

  • Reviews product design to ensure optimal manufacturability, adherence to tolerance guidelines, tool design, machine design, cell layout, compatibility issues, and safety concerns.
  • Leads tooling development and design from prototype through manufacturing production stages.
  • Leads efforts to develop manufacturing equipment for process through either machine upgrades or acquisition of new capital equipment.
  • Leads process development effort through cross-functional teams to develop optimal cell layout, work instructions, process flow layout, and set-up procedures, while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity protocols.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to develop PFMEA’s, mistake/error proofing.
  • Coordinates internal engineering trials for PPAP’s, PSA’s, Run at Rates, etc.
  • Evaluates and takes actions needed to meet or exceed targets set for spoilage, cycle time, and quality.
  • Accomplishes the above tasks through compliance with the plant’s Advanced Planning Quality Procedures.
  • Participate in Design Reviews, Build Reviews.
  • Maintain open communication with Program Managers.
  • Maintain Records of tooling design/purchase as outlined in Mfg. Capability.
  • Produces part samples to meet customer requirements.
  • Turn jobs over to production that are process capable and have all required equipment and documentation

Develop new manufacturing processes for existing and new business. (Continuous improvement)

  • Produce part samples to meet customer requirements.
  • Research New Manufacturing and Tooling techniques.
  • Participate in PCIT team.

Manage the responsibilities and priorities of the engineering department.

  • Review PFMEA’s, Scrap Reports, Utilization Reports, and Variance Summaries on a regular basis; prioritize corrective actions based on Significant Negative Variance, High RPN or severity of scrap produced.
  • Maintain Prioritized List of Current Engineering projects.
  • Assign Projects to appropriate personnel within RCP based on above priorities.
  • Provide leadership, performance feedback input and motivation on projects and performance.
  • Interface with plant personnel to smooth transition of projects into plant.
  • Maintain Records of completed projects.
  • Maintain Internal Corrective Action system and files.

Serve as a Technical Training Resource for the Plant.

  • Identify and provide coaching to proper personnel on tooling issues.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operates as designed.
  • Give daily priority to all safety related issues.
  • Supervise the maintenance work force.
  • Maintain a preventive maintenance program for all plant production equipment, auxiliary equipment, new equipment, building and yards.
  • Assist plant management in developing a plant maintenance budget. Operate within the scope of the budget.
  • Interact with Engineering personnel in the design and implementation of manufacturing equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain inventories for machinery and building to insure proper and prompt repairs.
  • Provide preventive maintenance training to department employees as needed.
  • Install or assist in the installation of new or upgraded equipment.
  • Requisition of maintenance and machine materials.
  • Maintain a complete history of repair, preventive maintenance, and parts and labor purchases for all equipment.
  • Provide to plant management, cause and corrective actions for equipment failures and repairs.
  • Report monthly manpower status and requirements, preventive maintenance performed, downtime cause and corrective actions, and other required information.
  • Act as the Environmental Management Representative. (Or Co-rep with the Plant Manager).  This includes being the certified SWPPP operator.  (Will provide RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Training which is a required onboarding training for this role.)

Physical Requirements;

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and navigate tight spaces. Three (3) positions available, two on afternoon shift and one on midnight shift. They are 8 hour shifts plus overtime as needed.

To support all Maintenance operations within the manufacturing plant

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

 Perform machine maintenance repair. Assignments will include but are not limited to performing preventative maintenance, machine repair, machine design improvements, buidling and grounds maintenance, and industrial machine trouble shooting.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, Etc.):

Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:

  • High School Diploma;
  • Knowledge of basic electricity;
  • DC and AC Drive Installation and Troubleshooting experience;
  • Mechanical and electrical blue print reading and writing experience;
  • Ability to utilize OEM documentation to repair equipment (prints and instructions);
  • Knowledge of electrical controls;
  • Ability to do industrial electrical troubleshooting;
  • Knowledge of Plant work/safety rules;
  • Knowledge of electrical safety and the industrial electrical code;
  • Ability to provide mechanical and electrical support;
  • Ability to fill out machine work requests completely and accurately;
  • Ability to research, select and make recommodations for mechanical and electrical component repairs;
  • Basic machining skills;
  • Knowledge of tooling (dies and molds);
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems.
