Machine(s): 174 Cell, 522, 523, and Rotary Tables

General Scope of Responsibilities: 

  • The operator is responsible for running of the machine in a safe and productive manner.
  • They are also responsible for ensuring the quality of the product and performing necessary quality checks.
  • The operator must package the finished product and accurately record all information.
  • The operator must be willing to be part of a team environment by helping others in the performance of their duties.

Essential Functions: 

• Follow all plant work and safety rules.
• Ensure the product meets or exceeds customer and internal specifications.
• Perform all necessary quality control testing and record all data, accurately, as required.
• Package product in boxes or returnable containers/racks and accurately record all information on all necessary paperwork.
• Fill out product identification labels and make cartons.
• Continuously inspect product for defects.
• Work rotating work schedule and overtime as assigned.
• Perform necessary housekeeping in work area.

Peripheral Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Attend all required meetings.
• Report all unsafe conditions.
• Participate on assigned project/improvement teams.
• Perform all other duties as assigned and necessary.

Physical/Mental Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• The employee is required to stand long hours on a daily basis, often over 8 hours in a day.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Education or Trade Knowledge Required: 

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate.
• Must be able to add, subtract, and solve simple mathematical process problems.

• Must be able to operate a computer, having basic computer skills.
• Must be able to successfully pass all required training courses.
• Must be able to read and understand simple drawings.
• Must be able to understand and fulfill job duties in a timely manner as reviewed by supervisor.

Work Environment: 

• This is a typical industrial environment utilizing moderately heavy equipment.
• The work environment at times can be dirty, hot, cold, dusty, noisy (85 DBS), and greasy, but is generally thought to be good.
• Workers may be exposed to hazards such as overhead hoists, stationary blades, utility knives, pinch points, lifting, extreme heat, hazardous chemicals, forklift traffic, high voltage, repetitive tasks, moving machine parts, fumes and heights.
• High degree of care necessary as serious injury may result.

Work Schedule We are a continuous operation facility. This position is required to work rotating shifts. Overtime will be required at times.

Perform Maintenance Repair assignments, including electrical and electronic repairs.  These assignments will include but are not limited to performing electrical and electronic repairs, preventative maintenance, machine repair, machine design improvements, facility and grounds maintenance, die repair, and industrial machine troubleshooting. Must be willing to be part of a team environment and actively assist team members in the performance of their duties. Perform necessary housekeeping in assigned work area, attend all required meetings, report all unsafe conditions and other duties as assigned.

PERIPHERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend all required meetings
  • Report all unsafe acts and conditions immediately
  • Report all quality defects and production problems immediately
  • Participate on asigned projects and/or improvement teams
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and necessary
  • Work as scheduled, including rotating shifts and overtime as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, Etc.):

Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:

  • High School Diploma;
  • Knowledge of basic and advanced electricity;
  • DC and AC Drive Installation and Troubleshooting experience;
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical blue print reading and writing experience;
  • Ability to utilize OEM documentation to repair equipment (prints and instructions);
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical controls;
  • Ability to do industrial electrical troubleshooting;
  • Knowledge of Plant work/safety rules;
  • Knowledge of electrical safety and the industrial electrical code;
  • Provide basic and advanced electrical troubleshooting and repair;
  • Ability to provide mechanical and electrical support;
  • Ability to fill out machine work requests completely and accurately;
  • Ability to research, select and make recommodations for mechanical and electrical component repairs;
  • Basic machining skills;
  • Knowledge of tooling (dies and molds);
  • Advanced understanding of hydraulic systems.

Desired [Will provide job holder with added skill(s) to perform duties]:

  • Journeyman Electrician (Licensed) or 5 years experience in electrical repair; (up to 4 years of experience can be substituted by school)
  • Advanced machining skills and ability to work from drawings and prints;

EDUCATION OR TRADE KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, and work with decimals and fractions to solve simple process problems.
  • Must be able to successfully pass all OSHA/EPA required training courses.
  • Must be able to understand and fulfill job duties in a timely manner as reviewed by supervisor.
  • Must be able to read and understand simple blue print or engineering drawings

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 80# in all directions.
  • Safely operate forklift and other motorized industrial trucks and pallet jacks
  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment such as hoist, cranes.
  • Ascending or descending ladders and/or stairs.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, or sitting
  • Ability to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight spaces and move from one worksite to another to accomplish tasks.
  • Able to perform repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, stooping reaching with arms and operating levers and buttons.
  • Repeating motions that may include arms, wrist, hands, fingers.
  • Able to operate equipment and hand tools using levers and controls.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
  • Possess detailed observation skills and concentrate continuously on task.
  • Must be able to take initiative and work unsupervised.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

  • This is a typical industrial environment utilizing moderately heavy equipment. Workers may be exposed to hazards such as overhead hoists, stationary and rotating blades, utility knives, pinch points, lifting, extreme heat, forklift traffic, high voltage, repetitive tasks, moving machine parts, and heights. Workers must exercise a high degree of care and safety to prevent injuries to oneself and others.

  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals or fumes within permissible exposure limits.
  • Workers may be exposed to ozone within OSHA parameters.

Work Schedule

We are a continuous operation facility. This position is required to work all shifts. Overtime will be required at times. Shifts are based on seniority preference.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, Etc.):

Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:

  • High School Diploma;
  • Ability to utilize OEM documentation to repair equipment (prints and instructions);
  • Knowledge of basic electricity;
  • Knowledge of electrical controls;
  • Knowledge industrial electrical code;
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical blue print reading;
  • Ability to do industrial electrical troubleshooting;
  • Knowledge of Plant work/safety rules;
  • Knowledge of electrical safety;
  • Conduit Bending;
  • Ability to provide mechanical support;
  • Ability to fill out machine work requests completely and accurately;
  • Ability to research, select and make recommendations for mechanical and electrical component repairs;
  • Knowledge of pneumatic controls and systems;
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic and systems;
  • Basic machining skills.

Desired [Will provide job holder with added skill(s) to perform duties]:

  • Knowledge of basic PLCs
  • Journeyman Electrician (Licensed) or 5 years experience in electrical repair; (up to 4 years of experience can be substituted by school)
